I’ve been looking at the sky a lot lately. It’s amazing to think of all that’s up there. I saw an iridescent cloud today during a walk. The colors are visible due to sunlight hitting small droplets of water or ice in the cloud. Pretty neat stuff.
I’ll preface this post by saying that I am a huge fan of all things space.
For the past few days the space shuttle Atlantis and the International Space Station have been orbiting the Earth separately since they undocked on Wednesday. Tonight they were visible for a short time here in New Hampshire. It was pretty neat to see both streaking across the sky. They looked like a couple of really bright planes and were only visible for a little more than a minute and a half. It was so cool.
In the picture the top streak is the space station and the lower is Atlantis, STS-129.
I live in front of a very old barn. It was built in 1780 and is as barn red as barn red can be. Here’s one from inside this afternoon.
As Katie and I get ready to move into a cabin in less than a month, I can’t help but think about a wonderful week spent in Ely, MN last summer. We fished, camped, sat around the fire, told stories, hiked, and canoed. It was beautiful. I can’t wait to wake up near the water again.
