From the Bunker

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Here are a few more frames from this weekend’s Duramed Futures Tour golf tournament in Concord. I know golfers don’t like to be in the sand traps, but from a photographer’s perspective, it works pretty well.

Lining Up

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Whew, the week is finally over. The past several days have been some of the busiest of the year so far for me. I’ve been shooting The International at Concord and the events surrounding the tournament since Tuesday. I walked a couple dozen miles over the course of the tournament. Luckily, the weather cooperated throughout the weekend and we avoided the rain. I’ll post more later, but I thought this was one of the more artsy pictures from the week.

Baseball Season

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Baseball season is finally here. I’ve been avidly watching the Cardinals and so far so good. Here’s a snap from a little league game this past weekend.

Bode Miller

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

I photographed five-time Olympic medalist Bode Miller at a charity event on Cannon Mountain a few weeks back. Miller, who is from Franconia, NH, does the event for his sister’s charity, the Turtle Ridge Foundation. Each year he comes out and skis with a couple hundred kids and then participates in a downhill race. He moves quick and it was hard to keep up with him, but I was able to make a few frames.

Tired

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I covered my first track meet today in quite sometime. It was a lot of fun wandering around and just watching high school kids be kids. Here’s a snap of some guys after they had just finished a 2 mile race. I don’t know how they do it.

Super Fans

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Way way way back in the day when I was in high school (2003), we had a pretty good basketball team. However, my calling wasn’t on the court, it was on the sidelines. Myself, along with a few friends, were those fans with our shirts off and body and paint all over. We prepared for the games at P-9′s (nickname) house. We always arrived shortly before tip off in order to make a splash entrance. Then the repetitious clap would begin…….and bam! We would open the doors to the gym and run up and down our team’s side of the court carrying flags or waving t-shirts. The crowd cheered, the players got fired up, and we had crazy fun.

A few weeks back while photographing a state championship game I couldn’t help but think back to the days when I was on the other side, putting face paint on prior to the big game.

Skiing

Friday, February 19th, 2010

I’ve shot a lot of skiing lately and absolutely love it. It’s cold and really windy at times, but the creative juices seem to flow up on the mountains. For more picture please click here.
